How Sushi Go Party Scoring Works

Four numbers per player: one for each drafting round, and one for the desserts you hoarded the whole way through. Here's what goes into each.

1Round 1

Each player gets a hand, everyone picks one card at the same time, and the rest pass to the next player - repeat until the hands are gone. Then score what's in front of you: nigiri pay their printed value (egg 1, salmon 2, squid 3, tripled if you played a wasabi under one earlier), your chosen roll type pays out to whoever collected the most, and each appetizer and special resolves exactly as its menu tile says. Dessert cards do not score now - slide them to the side and leave them there. Enter the round total here.

2Round 2

Everything resets except the desserts. The menu stays exactly as you built it, unplayed cards from round one are discarded, and fresh hands come out - this time passing the other direction. Score the round the same way you scored the first one, and again set desserts aside rather than counting them. Anything that carried over between rounds on a special tile does its thing here; the round total you enter is simply whatever your marker moved this round.

3Round 3

The last set of hands, drafted and scored identically. Fewer dessert cards are in this deck than the earlier ones, so if you have been chasing puddings all game, round three is where the supply runs thin and the race gets decided. Score the round, enter the total, and then - and only then - settle the dessert row below.

4Desserts

Dessert cards never score during a round. They pile up beside your menu across all three rounds and settle exactly once, after round three. Which dessert is on your menu decides how: pudding gives +6 to the player (or players) with the most and takes 6 away from whoever has the fewest, including anyone at zero - though in a two-player game nobody loses points for having fewest. Green tea ice cream pays 12 points for every complete set of four and nothing at all for the leftovers. Fruit scores each of its three fruit types on its own sliding scale, and having none of a type actually costs you 2 points. Enter your net dessert score here; unlike the round rows, this one accepts a negative number.

Sushi Go Party Scoring Questions

Is there a Sushi Go Party score sheet I can use online?
This page works as one: a free digital Sushi Go Party score sheet with a row for each of the three rounds, a row for desserts, and the totals added for you across up to 8 players. For games you want to keep - with player stats and win rates - the Meeply app has a rules-aware Sushi Go Party scoresheet. Free to try.
How do you score Sushi Go Party?
You score three times during the game and once at the end. At the end of each of the three drafting rounds, tally the cards in front of you using the values printed on the menu tiles you chose, and set dessert cards aside without scoring them. After round three, score all the desserts you saved across the whole game. The four numbers added together are your final score.
How do dessert cards score in Sushi Go Party?
Desserts are saved across all three rounds and scored once, at the very end. Pudding compares players: most gets +6, fewest loses 6. Green tea ice cream pays 12 points per complete set of four. Fruit scores each fruit type on its own scale, and you lose 2 points for any type you have none of. Only one dessert is on the menu in a given game, so check the tile you picked - a dessert score can absolutely come out negative.
Do you lose points for the fewest puddings in a 2-player game?
No. With two players, the player with the most pudding still scores +6, but the fewest-pudding penalty is skipped entirely. The same accommodation applies to Temaki, the roll type that normally punishes whoever has the fewest.
How many points are maki rolls worth?
It depends on the roll type you put on your menu, and the exact payout is printed right on the tile. Sushi Go Party ships three of them - Maki, Temaki, and Uramaki - and they behave differently: Maki and Uramaki reward the players with the most, while Temaki also takes points away from the player with the fewest. Read the tile, tally the round, and enter the round total.
What is a menu in Sushi Go Party?
Before each game you build a menu from the tiles: nigiri (always included), one roll type, three appetizers, two specials, and one dessert. That menu is the deck you draft from for all three rounds, and the point values on those tiles are the entire scoring system for the night. The rulebook suggests ready-made menus if you would rather not choose.
How many players can play Sushi Go Party?
Two to eight. The hand size shrinks as the table grows - ten cards each at two or three players, down to seven at eight - and more dessert cards get shuffled in for bigger groups. The original Sushi Go, by comparison, is a 2-5 player game with a single fixed deck.
Who wins a tie in Sushi Go Party?
The tied player with the most dessert cards wins - which is one more reason to grab that pudding even when the points look thin.
Does Meeply support Sushi Go Party?
Yes - Sushi Go Party is one of 300+ games with rules-aware scoresheets in the Meeply app, including round-by-round scoring and a dessert row that handles negatives. Free to try.
